1978-1989
|
You are about to read the testimony of a man, who by all rights, should be dead. As I look back I can clearly see the hand of God on my life. I spent every good part of about 16 years in addiction to drugs, alcohol and pornography.
From 1978 to 1989 I indulged heavily in drugs and alcohol. I spent ALL my recreational time drinking heavily, smoking pot, popping pills. From 1985 to 1989, cocaine became my best friend. I could not seperate myself from that substance.

In 1989, I met Jesus as my Savior, but I did not make Him my Lord yet. I managed to stay clean from drugs and pornography for quite a few years. I thought that the counterfeit church was the answer. I would have new friends. I realize now that God's power was not in the church but in His Word.I read His Word , but was not getting the revelation of the Truth and preachers were not preaching it.I needed to here about repentance from sin. Instead, all I heard was " The 10 steps to the 12 ways to live for God and be happy". When the "church" failed, in 1997 I turned to prescription meds. It got so bad that I was downing 30 days worth of medication in 2 or 3 days. When I could not get the pills, I turned right back to alcohol, drinking several nights a week.

Hungry for God Again!
|
In July 2002, my wife heard about Remnant Fellowship thru Weigh Down Advanced. We were still attending our other fellowship. I was coming to the conclusion that God was not moving in the churches and I became thoroughly bored. My wife told me about Remnant and my heart immediately became stirred. I was becoming hungry for God again. About a week later, we joined Remnant Fellowship and have made a full commitment to do God's will and live an obedient life for Him.

Abundant Blessings

Since then I have laid down drugs, drunkenness, and pornography. My marriage is completely restored and our household functions in doing the Will of God.God's blessings are abundant in every area. God has also changed my eating and to this day I have lost 25 lbs.I am so grateful for God's grace allowing us to hear His Truth. All Praise and Glory and Honor to Him who sits on the throne of Heaven and my heart.
